Re: Anyone know who this is ???
Sun, June 22, 2008 - 3:13 PMI dunno, but here are some clues:
* His clothing is from the mid-19th Century.
* He's wearing a lot of medals, but not a uniform, so he is not a soldier.
* His hand is on a book, suggesting he is a writer, perhaps of literature, literature, history or philosophy.
* The largest medal, in the shape of an "Iron Cross," suggests that he is German. -

Sun, June 22, 2008 - 3:36 PMOops, obviously didn't mean to write "literature" twice. He could be a scientist.

Re: Anyone know who this is ???
Sun, June 22, 2008 - 9:55 PMI was wrong about him being German. It's Samuel Morse, inventor of the telegraph.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Morse
How did I find out? I copied the picture and blew it up with a graphics program. The object behind the book on the table is a telegraph. -
